Pernicious Anemia Are Leukemia And Pernicious Anemia The Same Thing?

Are leukemia and pernicious anemia the same thing? - pernicious anemia

The people of the 19th Century often seemed to die of pernicious anemia. Is that an old name for what is now known as leukemia or another disease?

Different.
Pernicious Anemia is low red blood cells (anemia) because of the inability to absorb vitamin B12 (needed for blood cells) by antibodies (usually molecules designed to remain too uncomfortable, such as viruses, but is on the normal parts of the body to attack). The antibodies can deal with the cells of the stomach (parietal cell), or proteins, which is made by them and the B12 (intrinsic) factor.
Leukemia is a cancer of white blood cells.

It is so rare that we ask. When he was two years old, my mother was in hospital with one of my brothers. In the year 1962. My father remained at home for me and my brothers and my mother spent a week in the hospital (remember that you stay a week!). In any case, I would stopped eating and drinking, what my father happy, because less winding. Mother comes home a week later I went on the first floor, very lethargic. You know something is wrong, is hospitalized with me, so that the child with my father. After days of testing, leukemia. The bad news, just a few weeks old. I melt into nothingness. Eleven days later, doctors say, they will do it through the night. Good Catholics, were baptized my back and had administered last rites. My grandfather in World War II, he bought a hollow cross, with a bottle of water from Lourdes pool. She had saved money for his one true miracle. He will escape, and they called me back, but the third time, with the holy water from Lourdes. Within an hour, my explanation of color and I lament that one hungry and thirsty. The next day I am my own evil spirit. Two days later released. Physicians, with a surprising conclusion, given that it must have had leukemia, I had pernicious anemia. In the eyes of doctors, two problems need to be closely linked, so that the misdiagnosis.

Things that would 46 years later, I ask this question. I heard my grandparents, now deceased, and my parents, my late father tell this story a thousand times.

If SI love you? Who knows? But I know I'm alive!

Peace
